Kixeye : Systems Administrator : 9/11 - present Lots and lots of crazy computer stuff. Game Theory, LLC : Senior Systems Administrator : 2/11 - 9/11 I was the sole systems/network administrator providing day to day management and 24/7 on call support for the ~250 Linux based production servers, VMs, and AWS/EC2 instances in multiple data centers supporting Game Theory's dozens of products and services. I also provided primary support for all of Game Theory's internal IT services including Windows 2008 Severs and hosted Exchange/BES, as well as all the laptops, desktops, printers, network, etc. Technologies supported included various versions of Fedora and CentOS, MySQL 5.1 (Percona version), NGINX, php & php-fpm, memcached, Zenoss, VM Ware, OpenVZ, Proxmox, AWS/EC2, FreeIPA, SVN, Google Apps, HP iLO, Windows 2008, Exchange 2008, Windows 7, Max OS 10.X, and a variety of network and WiFi gear. Cellfire Inc. : Systems Administrator : 7/10 - 2/11 I was the sole systems/network administrator providing day to day management and 24/7 on call support for the Linux and Windows based servers, desktops, printers, network, phones, etc. My primary duties were the deployment, monitoring, and oncall support for the in house developed Cellfire apps and website. Technologies supported include CentOS, MySQL, Apache, Tomcat, PHP, ActiveMQ, Postfix, Zenoss, Bigsister, Jira, Cisco routers/ ASA firewalls, Avocent KVM, and Windows Server/Exchange 2003. Aeria Games and Entertainment : Systems Administrator : 8/09 - 7/10 Aeria Games is an online publisher of over a dozen "Free to Play" MMORPGs, translated into multiple languages, with over 12 million subscribers. I was part of the US Ops team providing the day to day and 24/7 on-call support for the hundreds of Linux and Windows 2003 servers running the games housed in multiple data centers. This included working with the overseas developers who do the coding of the games, as well as working with the in house producers and GM teams who do the day to day end user support for the games. I also worked with the engineering teams in supporting the Aeria Games Website, registration and billing functions, and helped with the support of all internal IT functions. Technologies supported included CentOS, multiple Fedora and Debian releases, MySQL, lighttpd, Apache, Nagios, Zenoss, qmail, RT, Jira, Windows Server 2003 / 2008, MSSQL 2000 / 2005, IIS, Cisco ASA firewalls, and Akami/CDN. TiVo Inc. : Senior Systems Administrator : 6/06 - 4/09 The first half of my time at TiVo was spent as a Senior Windows Admin in IT-Ops primarily supporting the Active Directory and Exchange / Goodlink / BES services as well as the in house built IIS / ASP / NET / SQL based CRM and Billing apps. From there I was recruited into Broadcast Center Operations as a Senior Linux Admin deploying and supported the highly customized, in house developed, Redhat based TiVo Service software which uses Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, XMPP and many other home brewed technologies. The entire time I was part of the 24/7 pager rotation supporting first the IT-Ops services, then the BC-Ops services. As the IT-Ops and BC-Ops groups became merged, I was the first person to successfully carry and support the "dual duty" pager for *ALL* the IT and BC services. I was also primary support for TiVo's Aruba WiFi network, Kazeon Search, E*Trade Equity Edge, and Verint Voice Survey software. Albany Unified School District : Network Admin/Tech Director : 9/04 - 6/06 I served as the highest point of escalation for all areas of computer, network, phone and other technical support for a K-12 school district with approximately 3500 students, 400 employees, and 800 computers. I had one full time technician who reported to me, and coordinated efforts with teachers and volunteers to provide technical support district wide. I was responsible for the District LAN/WAN, firewall, content filter, file and print servers, employee laptops and desktops, student labs, library and classroom machines, PBX phone voice mail systems, cafeteria POS systems, email, and website. Bedford Micro Solutions (V.A.R.) : Vice President : 8/02 - 9/04 Bedford Micro was a small retail computer store and VAR started by a long time friend and co worker of mine, Andrew Stein. As Vice President, my primary duties were providing technical consulting services to our clients as well as serving as the right hand man in all daily operations. This included manning the retail store, managing the in house systems, and all the other things that go into running a small business. I left when the company focus shifted from systems sales and consulting to computer recycling. Indivos Corporation : Systems / Network Administrator : 1/01 - 7/02 I was the sole systems/network administrator providing day to day management and 24/7 on call support for the Windows and Linux based servers, desktops, printers, network, phones, etc. I worked with the Director of Operations and Engineering leads in the design, purchase, build out, and maintenance of the Data Center during the successful pilot deployments of our Biometric Payment System at McDonald's and Thriftway. Pixar Animation Studios : Windows Administrator : 12/98 - 12/00 I was the highest point of escalation for all Windows based systems including: file and print servers, Finance's Oracle clients, Engineering's development environments, Art's Satori Paint workstations, and all other Windows based servers and end user systems. Was responsible for integrating the Windows environments with the Macintosh and Unix environments, and provided end user and server support for both the Macintosh and Unix environments as well. Assisted with the design and testing of an in house developed video playback solution and oversaw its deployment. Was also responsible for the migration of all the Windows based systems during the company's move from Richmond to Pixar's current Emeryville campus, and provided assistance to the other IT teams in migrating the Macintosh, Unix, and Network infrastructures to the new location. Computown (V.A.R.) : Senior Technologist/Corporate Services : 4/98 - 11/98 I was contracted as the sole on site tech supporting Sony's San Francisco construction office during the building of the Metreon. I also provide consulting services to other clients including the City and County of San Francisco, Namco, and LearnIT. Sybase, Inc. : Systems Administrator II : 1/97 - 2/98 I provided Windows File & Print server installation and maintenance (NT 3.51, NT4, and Citrix derivatives), managed engineering's Windows build farm and software development workstations (NT 3.51 and 4 in a Solaris environment). Unitek Systems (V.A.R.) : Senior Technician : 7/96 - 12/96 My primary duties were managing the NT4 Domain, Exchange, file and print servers and managing the Solaris / SunOS based NFS, Sendmail, and POP/IMAP servers. Desktop Products (V.A.R.) : Senior Technician : 9/91 - 5/96 I started out as the receptionist and moved into an entry level tech position while learning on the job. By the end of my 5 years at Desktop Products, I had built the in house internet infrastructure, managed the NT and Solaris servers, and was providing similar services for outside clients. Also during this time, I was A+ certified for both Macs and PCs, and received my Sun Solaris 2.3 and Sun Competency 1500 certifications.
